Tunneling Site/Shift Engineer

Our client is seeking experienced Tunneling Site/Shift Engineers to join their team on the Snowdonia VIP Tunnel project. The project will operate a 2-shift pattern, and a shift premium will apply while in operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tunneling operations and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with the Permit to Tunnel and Daily Briefing procedures, implementing and following actions, controls, and findings as required.
  • Monitor ground conditions, review material in the STP, and communicate changes to the Sub-Agent/Agent, capturing relevant information on the shift report.
  • Assist the Sub-Agent in coordinating crane activities, including TBM assembly, launch, and disassembly, in conjunction with Lift Supervisors and Lifting Coordinators.
The Project:

Our client is delivering the Visual Impact Provision project in Eryri National Park, which aims to reduce the visual impact of National Grid's overhead line across the Dwyryd Estuary. The project represents a major opportunity to conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife, and environmental heritage of this precious landscape.
