Position Overview

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and skilled Clinical Technologist to become a part of our supportive cardiovascular team. Our department specializes in both invasive and non-invasive cardiac interventions. The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in Cardiology and demonstrate a desire to enhance their proficiency in Specialist Cardiology diagnostics, ultimately aiming for BSE or BHRS accreditation (or equivalent).

The invasive technologist will be responsible for performing procedures in the catheterization laboratory, including Left Heart Catheterization (LHC), Right Heart Catheterization (RHC), and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) utilizing Pressure wire technology. Additionally, the role involves working towards proficiency in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Rotablation, and Shockwave therapy. Responsibilities also include pacing device implantation, with a focus on devices such as ICDs, CRTs, and Left Bundle Branch area pacing, along with follow-up clinics conducted both remotely and in-person.

Our department operates from 8 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, with staff working a compressed four-day week. This position will also entail managerial duties overseeing junior staff members.

Candidate Profile

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc in Clinical Physiology with competencies in routine and specialized cardiac/respiratory clinical assessments.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Desirable

  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).
  • Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification.
  • Completion of Part 1 Professional Exam (SCST/ARTP).
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in conducting and interpreting routine and specialized complex investigations.
  • Strong communication skills.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Comprehensive theoretical, practical, and technical knowledge to support investigative procedures within the department.
