F1 Performance Engineer

**Job Summary**

Matchtech Mobility is seeking a highly skilled F1 Performance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our high-performance team, you will be responsible for promoting effective communication and teamwork across all personnel and departments.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Support the Race Engineer in performance and data analysis aspects of car operation.
  • Collaborate with the Driver Coach to identify balance limitations and suggest setup directions.
  • Perform lap time simulations for pre-event preparation, analysis during events, and post-event correlation/analysis.
  • Suggest setup changes and options based on simulation and/or track data analysis.
  • Manage setup sheets/files for car build and simulation purposes.
  • Monitor telemetry data from reliability and performance perspectives.
  • Run simulator sessions as required.
  • Develop data analysis tools to aid in analysis (e.g., Matlab/Simulink/Excel VBA).
  • Manage overlays for the driver during/post-session.

**Requirements**

  • Engineering degree.
  • Experience as a trackside engineer, preferably in Formula 1, as either a Race or Performance Engineer.
  • Experience in other Formulas would be beneficial.

**Specialised Knowledge and Skills**

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Technical background in racing car performance and vehicle dynamics.
  • Technical background in car/system design, operation, build, and preparation.
  • Ability to work under pressure in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Team player capable of working well with personnel at all levels.

**Equipment and Applications**

  • Knowledge of ATLAS.
  • Experience with MATLAB.
  • Good understanding of lap time simulation tools and simulator environments.
