About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at the Cromwell Hospital. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing expert care to patients with lung cancer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist-level planning, coordination, and delivery of evidence-based care for inpatients and outpatients with lung cancer.
  • Act autonomously using advanced decision-making skills in the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Manage own caseload and work with colleagues to provide the highest possible standards of care.
  • Ensure all lung cancer activities are carried out with complete adherence to clinical compliance, regulatory standards, policy, and guidelines.
  • Competently act as the patients' advocate and assist patients in understanding their disease and treatments available to them.
  • Assist in the coordination of patient treatment pathways between the various departments at the Cromwell Hospital to facilitate continuity of care.
  • Establish links and develop networking opportunities with other lung CNSs.
  • Support initiatives to improve service for customers and the growth of the lung service at the Cromwell Hospital.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Adult/RN (Essential)
  • Post-registration study in lung nursing (Essential)
  • Previous extensive lung nursing experience (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of NMC Codes and guidelines and their implications for practice
  • Teaching/training experience, evidence of continuing professional development
