Job Role: Commercial Manager
Area: Medway Towns
Salary: £55k - £65k
PW Construction Recruitment is seeking a skilled Commercial Manager to oversee the financial and contractual aspects of various construction projects. As a key member of the commercial team, you will be responsible for managing costs, ensuring value for money, and maintaining delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit monthly payment applications, collaborating with clients' quantity surveyors to ensure accuracy.
- Develop and manage internal budgets, working closely with the procurement team to optimize costs.
- Generate monthly cash flow reports to inform senior management of project financials.
- Identify, value, and agree upon variations to contracts, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Compile and analyze monthly labor, material, plant, and subcontractor cost data to inform senior management reports.
- Assist in reviewing proposed contracts, contractual arrangements, and contract documentation to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Prepare and issue subcontract orders, from tender inquiries to order placement.
- Manage daily subcontractor accounts to ensure timely payment and cost control.
- Evaluate subcontractor applications and raise payment certificates as necessary.
- Support the pre-construction team by reviewing tender documentation and providing commercial insights.
- Conduct routine assessments of commercial risk on projects to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with project team members to address commercial issues and ensure project success.
Requirements:
- A minimum HNC qualification or equivalent, with a recognized qualification a plus.
- Significant commercial and financial experience on construction projects, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical installations.
- Familiarity with various contract types and contractual frameworks.
- A full UK driver's license.
