Position Overview
An exceptional opportunity has emerged within the surgical department for a Band 5 Surgical Care Practitioner to become a vital member of our collaborative surgical team. We are seeking a dedicated, innovative, and forward-thinking individual who is passionate about personal and professional growth, as well as enhancing our evolving service.
You will be part of a proactive and dynamic group of healthcare professionals, including nurses and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs), who are committed to delivering the highest standards of perioperative care. Each day presents unique challenges and rewards, and we take pride in our teamwork, continuous learning, and progressive approach.
Applicants must hold an anaesthetic qualification and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or have completed a recognized anaesthetic course if they are a registered nurse. Experience in scrub roles is advantageous, but a willingness to learn is equally valued.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Provide exceptional care with a focus on patient safety and quality.
- Exhibit effective teamwork and communication skills while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute actively to the advancement of professional practice within the team and Clinical Support Division.
While experience in colorectal care is preferred, it is not a prerequisite.
All candidates must maintain registration with their relevant professional regulatory body and adhere to their professional code of conduct. Proof of ongoing registration will be required, along with a recognized anaesthetic qualification.
