Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Porter to provide essential logistical support to our NHS clients in the Wirral area. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of services across multiple sites, involving the collection and delivery of mail and transportation of supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect pharmacy bags, boxes, and specimens from designated service points.
  • Assist in the removal of sharps bins and waste materials to appropriate locations.
  • Handle the collection and delivery of internal and external mail across healthcare facilities, ensuring security during transport.
  • Perform routine portering duties, including the distribution of materials and equipment.
  • Provide coverage for colleagues during absences, ensuring continuity of essential services.
  • Support a reliable and responsive transport service for clients, staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Report health and safety concerns to the line manager and maintenance issues to the relevant teams.
  • Collaborate with site services to maintain high standards of service delivery.
  • Participate in training sessions as directed by the line manager.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Problem-solving skills within the scope of responsibility.
  • Experience in public-facing roles is preferred.
