Mental Health and Wellbeing Assistant Job Description

Job Type: Full-time, Full Academic Year

Location: Secondary School in the Borough of Croydon

Salary: £105-£115 per day

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health and Wellbeing Assistant to join our team at EdEx Education Recruitment. The successful candidate will work closely with the SEND, Pastoral, and Safeguarding teams to provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor students with SEN and SEMH requirements, providing individualized support and guidance.
  • Develop strong relationships with pupils, staff, and external partners to ensure effective collaboration and support.
  • Plan and deliver group sessions and one-to-one sessions addressing the needs of students.
  • Work closely with the SEND, Pastoral, and Safeguarding teams to ensure a comprehensive support system for students.

Requirements:

  • Graduate with an interest in SEN or SEMH, or non-graduate with mentoring or counseling experience.
  • Previous experience or a passion for working with young people to make a positive impact on their lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Hardworking, resilient, and positive attitude.
