Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Adult Education ESL Instructor to join our team. This role is essential in facilitating English language proficiency among adult learners.

Location: Kent ISD Sneden Hall

Work Schedule: Full-time Split Shift: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Evenings 5:15 pm until 8:45 pm.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Michigan teaching certificate.
  • Preferred ESL endorsements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow educators.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction to help students achieve proficiency in the English language.
  • Assist learners in preparing for GED transition.
  • Evaluate students' readiness for examinations.
  • Design and adapt lesson plans throughout the academic year.
  • Maintain an accurate grade book and attendance records.
  • Grade assignments and fulfill administrative tasks as required.
  • Create engaging projects to complement instructional content.
  • Stay informed on current trends in adult education.
  • Utilize diverse curriculum resources effectively.
  • Incorporate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson planning.
  • Develop strategies to encourage student retention.
  • Foster professional relationships with external agencies and programs.
  • Collaborate with program administration to meet educational initiatives.
  • Establish clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports.
  • Monitor and assess student performance.
