Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled HSE Design Specialist to join our team at Mane Contract Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Technical Director and QHSE Project Manager in the development phase of projects, with a focus on Design Risk Management and UK CDM regulation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Run Training: Design and deliver training programs for project team members on design risk and CDM, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their roles effectively.
- Design Risk Management Plan: Create a project-specific Design Risk Management Plan, detailing deliverables according to stage gate requirements and ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Competency Assessments: Evaluate competency assessments of individuals and organizations to be appointed as Designers, providing recommendations to the project Client.
- Design Risk Documentation: Audit design risk documentation produced by Designers, advising on improvements required to ensure compliance with regulations and industry best practices.
- Mitigation of Design Risks: Support Designers in taking appropriate steps to mitigate design risks to ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) standards.
- Principal Designer Support: Assist the Principal Designer's representative in ensuring effective collaboration between designers, mapping key interfaces on HSE Design between windfarm parts/structures, and addressing dependencies, interdependencies, gaps, overlaps, and misalignments.
- H&S File Content: Contribute to the content of the project H&S File, ensuring it is comprehensive and up-to-date.
- CDM Process Mapping: Map gaps in the client CDM process and assist in updating the process to ensure compliance with regulations and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- UK-based: The successful candidate must be based in the UK, with flexibility and travel availability within the UK. Travel to Denmark may be required.
- Education: A relevant technical background is essential.
- HSE Product Safety: A thorough understanding of HSE product safety is required.
- CDM 2015: A thorough understanding and actual work experience of CDM 2015 are essential.
- Training Experience: Experience in training and development is required.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant and practical work experience is recommended.
- Design Standards: Knowledge of design standards, country legislations, Temporary Workplace Directive, and product development is essential.
- Design Risk Tools: Experience in using tools to address design risks, such as design risk assessments, hazid/hazops, qualitative, and quantitative assessments, is required.
- QHSE Role Model: The successful candidate must be a true QHSE role model, with a co-operative and solution-oriented attitude.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills, including the ability to write and speak English fluently, are essential.
- Personal Qualities: A caring and honest approach, with a human touch, is required.
Work Arrangements: The successful candidate will have the flexibility to work from home, our London office, or our Grimsby office.
Contract Period: The contract period is 1 year.
