Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Relief Supervisor to join our team at Tarmac Trading Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day activities of our Readymix RMX plants.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the RMX operational teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services to our customers.
  • Manage all aspects of daily production, including operational costs, stock control, and quality assurance.
  • Drive operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Effectively coach and performance manage direct reports, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Take responsibility for your own safety and that of your colleagues and business partners, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Maintain site housekeeping to a high standard, ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
  • Batch concrete to meet customer needs while meeting internal quality requirements.
  • Responsible for the budget in relation to the plants you are responsible for, including both fixed and variable costs.

Requirements

  • Hold a FULL UK manual car driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • Have strong supervisory/management experience from within a similar heavy industry, with product training provided to the successful candidate.
  • Be flexible and able to work shifts, including overtime, to meet production needs.

Desirable Qualifications

  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations
