Advanced Materials Scientist

Porous Liquid Technologies (PLT) is on the lookout for a dedicated and innovative scientist specializing in materials chemistry to contribute to our efforts in carbon capture technology. As a leader in the development of advanced chemical separation methods, we invite a skilled individual to become part of our team. This position presents a remarkable opportunity to engage in pioneering research and significantly influence the trajectory of our forward-thinking organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovate and formulate sophisticated porous liquids designed for effective post-combustion carbon capture.
- Execute research and experimental procedures to enhance the functionality and characteristics of porous liquid materials.
- Construct and implement gas adsorption/desorption systems to assess the efficacy of the materials developed.
- Evaluate and characterize the physical and chemical attributes of the materials using various laboratory methodologies, including gas uptake measurement, dispersion stability assessments, BET analysis, PXRD, and SEM.
- Compile and deliver regular reports and updates for internal stakeholders while effectively communicating progress to external partners.
- Contribute to ongoing projects within other critical areas of the company.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in materials chemistry.
- Demonstrated experience in the hands-on development and experimentation with porous materials is essential.
- Strong expertise in material characterization techniques.
- Proven analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Experience:
- A robust background in the synthesis and development of Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for carbon capture applications.
- Postdoctoral or industry experience in a relevant research domain.
- A history of publications in peer-reviewed journals focusing on MOFs, porous materials, or carbon capture chemistry.
- Understanding of carbon capture technologies and the challenges related to post-combustion capture processes.
