Maintenance Supervisor

ExtraCare Charitable Trust is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance function across multiple retirement villages. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating repairs and maintenance activities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living environment for residents.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage a team of maintenance staff, assigning tasks, setting schedules, and monitoring performance to ensure high-quality work and timely completion of work orders.
  • Utilize a trade background to carry out minor repairs where possible and drive a high-performance culture within your team.
  • Establish and coordinate regular meetings with residents to problem-solve maintenance issues and improve performance.
  • Support the Regional Building Surveyors in the timely delivery of KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide technical support to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and facilities to identify and prioritize maintenance and repair needs.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of external contractors.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and collaborate with village staff to ensure the smooth delivery of the maintenance service.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures for maintenance staff and contractors.
Requirements:
  • Trade background and experience in maintenance management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of building systems and safety regulations.
