About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lecturer in Fashion Design to join our team at Birmingham City University. As a key member of our Fashion Design department, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the BA (Hons) Fashion Design course, with a focus on womenswear design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of creative and practical modules in the BA (Hons) Fashion Design course, including three-dimensional design, fashion design realisation, and portfolio development.
  • Develop and deliver teaching and student-centred learning, with an extensive knowledge of fashion design practice.
  • Contribute to research and scholarly activities, leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or exhibitions.
  • Develop and maintain links within the fashion industry to strengthen the teaching programmes, research, and other associated activities.
  • Have an awareness of diversity and ethical issues as they relate to fashion design and higher education practice.
