Finance Manager for Membership Systems

Swindon, Swindon, United Kingdom The National Trust Full time
Finance Manager for Membership Systems

Overview

***INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY PLEASE***

We are seeking a Finance Manager for Membership Systems to become a vital part of our organization.

The Trust operates as a substantial and intricate charity, driven by a straightforward model: we grant individuals access to stunning or historically significant locations that offer both physical and spiritual rejuvenation. Individuals become members, visit, and contribute financially; these funds are then allocated towards conservation and accessibility efforts. This creates a beneficial cycle: increased revenue allows us to enhance the care of the sites we oversee and advance our broader initiatives.

Robust and sustainable financial management is crucial for an organization dedicated to preserving unique locations for the enjoyment of all, indefinitely. To achieve our ambitious goals and ensure compliant and secure transactions, we require modern and efficient financial systems. With a large membership base, there exists significant potential to make a meaningful impact on our charitable mission while engaging in exciting projects that leave a lasting legacy on the nation's heritage.

Work Environment

Our organization is larger and more complex than it may initially appear, with dedicated individuals across all teams striving to achieve our goals. We are committed to inclusivity, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and has access to our locations. To expand our reach, we aim to connect with new audiences in ways that resonate with them while maintaining the loyalty of our existing members.

Your primary work location will be our head office, with the expectation of attending in person. However, there is flexibility regarding your work location at other times. You will be required to spend 40-60% of your working hours at various Trust locations, which will be discussed further during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities

As the Finance Manager for Membership Systems, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organization to ensure the effective operation of our Membership system, Salesforce, particularly concerning its essential financial processes. You will serve as a leading internal authority on the financial requirements of our Salesforce platform, contributing significantly to a dynamic continuous improvement agenda led by our Finance Service Centre. This role presents an excellent opportunity to make a substantial contribution to one of the UK's largest charities and a leading conservation organization in Europe.

Candidate Profile

We encourage you to review the complete role profile attached. While we hope to find candidates with a comprehensive range of knowledge, skills, and experience, we welcome applications from those who may not meet every criterion.

We are particularly interested in candidates who possess:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive understanding of designing, implementing, and continuously enhancing financial processes.
  • Expertise in ERP finance systems and CRM platforms, with a strong emphasis on Salesforce.
  • In-depth knowledge of BACS and card payment technologies.
  • The ability to cultivate effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Strong presentation skills for conveying complex financial processes clearly to a wide audience.

Benefits

The National Trust embodies the motto 'For everyone, for ever.' We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture where all individuals feel a sense of belonging. It is essential that our workforce reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We value differences and strive to ensure that everyone is welcomed into our teams.

• Complimentary access to National Trust locations for you, a guest, and your children (under 18)
