We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Gov Facility Services Ltd. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the smooth and safe operation of HMP Grendon, a category D male prison.
Key Responsibilities- Work alongside experienced colleagues to maintain and repair mechanical systems, including plumbing, heating, and water systems.
- Ensure compliance with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance Team to identify and resolve issues, and implement improvements to the prison's infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, prisoners, and visitors.
- Contribute to a safe and secure environment by adhering to health and safety protocols and procedures.
- Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent.
- Familiarity with and ability to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
- Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems.
- Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
- Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
- Good Health & Safety knowledge.
- Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
