Job Summary
Quantum Science Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Production Chemist to join our team in the development and production of advanced nanomaterials. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for planning and developing safe and cost-effective manufacturing processes for colloidal quantum dots and other advanced materials.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan and develop manufacturing processes for colloidal quantum dots and other advanced materials, ensuring safety and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide technical solutions and troubleshoot manufacturing issues, adhering to safety protocols and environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Assess equipment and facilities during scale-up processes, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
- Work closely with R&D and scale-up team members for tech transfer from R&D to pilot plan and/or full-scale manufacturing.
- Continually optimize and develop existing and new product lines to ensure best quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes and testing techniques.
- Provide written reports on undertaken work in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor or MSc degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related discipline.
- Laboratory experience in nanomaterial synthesis and characterization is advantageous.
- Industrial experience in multi-stage process development, setting up reactors and manufacturing lines, and scaling up products, particularly colloidal quantum dots and nanomaterials, is beneficial.
- Confident with a practical hands-on approach in the lab and excellent self-starter and team member.
- Flexibility and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
