Salary: Circa £45,000 commensurate with skills and experience.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop IT hardware designs, including support for bidding and estimating processes.
  • Conduct studies on IT hardware to identify and support future business opportunities.
  • Oversee the maintenance of IT hardware and manage in-service spare parts and repairs.
  • Provide on-call assistance to the service delivery team for Simulation & Training Support contracts.
  • Accountable for the assembly, installation, and commissioning of Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) IT hardware systems.

Required Skills and Experience:


Essential:


  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with IT hardware systems.
  • Ability to interpret requirements to derive IT hardware specifications and develop solutions accordingly.
  • Capability to create technical specifications based on defined requirements.
  • Experience in installing and maintaining IT hardware, including network systems, in complex multi-site environments.
  • Skill in articulating technical issues to management teams during formal and informal project reviews.
  • Proficient in liaising with suppliers and leading discussions on potential technical solutions.
  • Degree qualified or possess relevant experience.

About the Modelling and Simulation Team:


The Modelling and Simulation Team engages in various technology development programs supporting Royal Navy Warfare Training (Surface & Subsurface) and Combat System Integration test tools.


The IT Hardware Support Engineer will collaborate with the existing team at Broad Oak, frequently visiting customer sites to assist with a diverse range of tasks aimed at ensuring the successful installation, modification, and support of IT hardware. This role will involve coordination with the Ministry of Defence Site Coordinating Installation Design Authority (SCIDA), offering opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, with potential pathways to more senior roles within a global organization.
