Job Overview

At Schindler Limited, we are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team in Warrington. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our lift and escalator equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of lift and escalator equipment, including minor repairs and replacement of components.
  • Rectify and reduce faults on lift and escalator equipment in cases of breakdown, and verify correct functioning.
  • Conduct regular inspections and adjustments of lift and escalator equipment, adhering to approved procedures.
  • Reinstall lift and escalator equipment and complete service documentation.
  • Perform advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using technical manuals and test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
  • Participate in site surveys and attend training sessions to maintain technical knowledge and skills.
  • Work in accordance with Schindler Limited's safety and environmental policies, ensuring compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety standards.
Requirements
  • Experience in lift and escalator servicing, maintenance, or repairs is preferred.
  • Hold a minimum of NVQ level 3 in lift and escalator maintenance or equivalent.
  • Be willing to work towards Schindler Certification Level 3 Red.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including multi-brand equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills at various levels, including with clients, service leaders, and inspectors.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to use hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting and operation of hand and power tools.
  • Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good administration skills and punctuality.
  • Hold a full UK driving license.
