We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Education Support Assistant to join our team at St Joseph's Catholic Academy. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Class Teacher and SENCO to provide in-class support and deliver interventions to targeted individuals.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide in-class support to students, adapting and personalizing learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher and SENCO to develop and implement interventions for students with additional needs.
- Build relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and outside agencies to ensure effective communication and support.
- Use initiative and work under direction to deliver high-quality support and interventions.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
- Understand the complexities of students with additional needs and provide tailored support to meet their needs.
- Be creative, flexible, and patient in approach to supporting students.
- Have some knowledge and/or experience of working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under direction and use initiative as required.
- Knowledge and/or experience of working with students with SEND.
- Flexibility and adaptability in approach to supporting students.
- Ability to build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
This is a fixed-term position, working term-time only for 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday). The actual salary will be between £13,663 and £14,688, excluding the April 2024 support staff pay award.
