The Optical Engine Delivery Team is responsible for the engineering, characterization, and manufacture of Snap's AR display platform. The team delivers high-quality processes, instrumentation, and analysis to characterize and develop the next generation of AR products.

Job Summary:

We're seeking an AR Optical Development Engineer to join the Optical Engine Delivery Team at Snap Inc. The successful candidate will help transfer designs and processes to contract manufacturers, analyze incoming process data, and support process development.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Transfer optical designs and processes to contract manufacturers;
  2. Analyze incoming process data and provide support with failure analysis;
  3. Support process development, including validation and root cause analysis;
  4. Work with the Optical Engine Delivery Team to deliver high-quality processes and instrumentation.
Requirements:
  • BSc in Physics, Optics, or other relevant engineering experience;
  • Experience with transferring optical designs to contract manufacturers;
  • Experience with optical and mechanical design software, such as Zemax and Solidworks;
  • Good optical engineering experience with a focus on manufacturing and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in optical engineering or a PhD in Physics, Optics, or Engineering;
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and optical design principles;
  • Experience with mechanical design and rapid prototyping of jigs and fixtures;
  • Experience in display testing and image quality evaluation.
