We are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to enhance our diverse project portfolio, particularly within the public sector, including education, adult social care, residential, leisure, blue light, depots, and libraries.
This role presents an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to the growth of a leading cost management practice in the South East.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the commercial elements of projects, including governance, fee management, internal job costing, and resource allocation.
- Engage directly with clients to ensure effective service delivery on a project basis.
- Collaborate with AtkinsRéalis project management, health & safety, and building surveying teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Lead and monitor all project work stages to guarantee a high-quality, professional service is provided to clients.
- Play a vital role in fostering repeat business and identifying new market opportunities.
- Implement quality assurance and environmental management principles in line with organizational policies.
- Mentor and manage junior team members, conducting performance reviews and providing guidance.
- BSc (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
- Chartered member of RICS (or equivalent).
- Extensive knowledge of local markets and a proven track record in generating repeat and new business.
- Significant experience with public sector clients on major projects, familiar with JCT and NEC contract forms.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating leadership and mentoring skills.
- Experience in education, residential, leisure, and blue light sectors.
- Comprehensive understanding of project components and overall construction costs, alongside various procurement options.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities, both internally and with clients.
- Ambitious and driven to deliver high-quality professional services.
- Proficient in IT applications, including Office, Outlook, BIM/CAD measurement, and cost planning software such as Cost-X.
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation to integrate into the office team.
- Ability to make informed decisions independently.
- Valid driving license.
