Driver Hire Southampton is currently in search of a committed and skilled HGV Class 2 Operator for a temporary-to-permanent role with one of our distinguished clients who specializes in the transportation of steel products.

Key Details of the HGV Class 2 Operator Position:

  • Temporary-to-permanent opportunity
  • Operating Class 2 vehicles, along with 7.5T and vans as needed
  • Standard working hours from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with additional hours available
  • Monday to Friday schedule
  • Average of 5 to 12 deliveries per day
  • Responsible for transporting steel across the South Coast region
  • Occasional warehouse duties may include picking, packing, loading, unloading, and stock management, although driving will constitute 90% of the role
  • Steel deliveries are typically handled with forklifts at the destination

Requirements for the HGV Class 2 Operator:

  • Valid UK Class 2 driving license
  • Current CPC and Digi Tacho cards
  • A minimum of one year’s experience operating Class 2 vehicles
  • Experience with strapping
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy items when necessary
  • Willingness to adapt to various tasks as required
  • Personal transportation for commuting
  • Excellent customer service abilities
  • Adherence to company health and safety protocols
