Yard Operative Job Description

Pertemps is currently recruiting for a skilled Yard Operative to join our team at a leading scrap metal recycler based in Aldershot.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the yard
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organization
  • Assist in the de-pollution process, including the removal of tires, wheels, and batteries
  • Liaise with customers, drivers, and contractors to ensure smooth site operations
  • Operate a forklift truck to unload and store vehicles safely
  • Record vehicle details accurately throughout the de-pollution process
Requirements:
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivation, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Integrity and confidentiality
  • A full driving license and previous experience in heavy industry
  • FLT and MSH licenses are advantageous
