Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Hunter Mason Consulting Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for administering construction contracts, including tendering, reviews, and negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Administer construction contracts, including tendering, reviews, and negotiations.
  2. Assist with workforce oversight and subcontractor deployment and time keeping.
  3. Meet with subcontractors throughout the works and approve stage payments, including accurate take offs and measurements.
  4. Evaluate and process change orders.
  5. Generate regular cost reports and forecasts to provide the Construction Manager and Directors with up-to-date financial information.
  6. Maintain accurate records of all cost-related documents, contracts, invoices, payments, and correspondence.
  7. Communicate effectively with the wider team.
  8. Support and seek best values in other areas of the business, advising and assisting where needed.

Requirements

  1. HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related subject.
  2. Ideally some experience in the industry already, but not a requirement.
  3. Self-motivated, friendly, sociable, and driven.
  4. Full driving license.
  5. Commercially aware.
  6. Attention to detail with a right-first-time attitude.
  7. Organisation and time management skills.
