Position Description

The Incident Management Team (IMT) is a proactive, collaborative, and highly supportive group, consisting of two interrelated functions.

The readiness and resilience division prepares the department to respond effectively to large-scale incidents, emergencies, and disruptive events. We design and implement a variety of incident response strategies and related protocols, continuously enhancing our processes based on insights gained from exercises or actual incidents.

The operational division conducts preliminary evaluations of product safety and compliance notifications, disseminating product safety alerts, reports, and recalls through publicly accessible platforms while collaborating internationally to address product safety concerns that may affect the UK.

IMT also spearheads the coordination of incident-related activities, engaging with various departments to ensure a robust incident response is executed.

As one of four G7 Managers within the Incident Management Team, you will oversee multiple initiatives within the readiness and resilience division.

Key Initiatives Include:

  • Implementing a program to evaluate the preparedness and capability of teams to respond to various incident categories and severities.
  • Developing an Incident Management training curriculum.
  • Conducting routine and large-scale product safety exercises.
  • Facilitating post-incident evaluations to identify lessons learned, generating reports, and managing their dissemination and implementation.
  • Conducting the annual review of the published incident management strategy.
  • Creating and overseeing the Operational Instructions for incident management.
  • Supervising at least one Incident Officer.
  • The role may necessitate participation in an on-call rota and could involve additional hours during incidents.
  • Some travel across the UK may be required, with travel and subsistence support available.
