The Role: Health and Safety Advisor
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our growing team. This role will involve providing comprehensive health and safety support across various construction projects in the Bedfordshire & Cambridgeshire areas.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with clients and internal H&S teams to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Participate actively in client health and safety meetings, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Support site teams by conducting workplace inspections, identifying potential hazards, and implementing corrective actions.
- Review and approve safe systems of work to minimize risks and promote a safe working environment.
- Provide on-site support during safe start meetings, ensuring all personnel are aware of the day's safety procedures.
- Prepare comprehensive reports documenting findings from inspections and investigations.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a site-based health and safety role within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on civil engineering projects.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and site personnel at all levels.
- A strong understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Proficiency in IT applications, including report writing and data analysis tools.
Desirable Qualifications:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- First Aid training certification.
