About the Role

Skanska, a leading global construction and development company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Manager to join their team. As a key member of the building services team, you will be responsible for leading the design management of mechanical systems across various sectors, including commercial, healthcare, education, and defense.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Mechanical Design Management for MEP and FM Capital Works projects, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.
  • Act as an Authorised Design Manager, reviewing and implementing design responsibilities and project team roles.
  • Support tender applications and PCSA periods, promoting standardization of approaches and ensuring Skanska minimum standards are met.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to coordinate design reviews and promote effective Design Management processes.
  • Review and score MEP and FM design consultant performances, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement Design Management processes to increase design control, attending Skanska contracts to build relationships and offer support.
  • Provide training to project teams, supporting the Technical Team and working closely with the Senior Technical Manager.

Requirements

  • Expert understanding and experience of Design Management and mechanical building services design.
  • Good understanding of the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations.
  • Working knowledge of HTM 06 and JSP.
  • Comfortable with handling data in Excel and Power BI, with experience working with SharePoint applications.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership is beneficial.
