Position Overview

Manpower UK Ltd is proud to partner with a renowned automotive manufacturer in the search for a Lead Manufacturing Engineer. This role is pivotal in enhancing the efficiency of the assembly operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will:

  • Drive the continuous enhancement of the assembly processes, ensuring the successful transition of vehicle programs from initial design to full-scale production.
  • Oversee the requirements for facilities and tooling, ensuring that standardized process documentation is maintained.
  • Conduct PFMEA and develop Process Control Plans to mitigate risks and enhance quality.
  • Engage in layout planning and statistical problem-solving to optimize production workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with the highest quality standards while prioritizing the health and safety of all personnel.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives

In this role, you will:

  • Facilitate and engage in improvement projects and value stream mapping sessions with various stakeholders.
  • Participate in shop floor performance reviews to identify losses and defects, setting actionable priorities.
  • Own the focused improvement processes aimed at reducing operational losses.
Data Analysis and Project Management

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Analyzing data to plan key improvements in build efficiency, waste reduction, and process risk management.
  • Identifying and supporting continuous improvement activities that generate value, leading initiatives such as Six Sigma projects and FMEA risk reduction.
  • Standardizing production processes by defining escalation triggers for daily performance meetings.
  • Assisting process owners in implementing new tools and improvement projects.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A recognized engineering apprenticeship or relevant experience in the automotive or aerospace sectors.
  • Previous engineering experience, particularly in advanced manufacturing and problem resolution.
  • Proficiency in Autocad layout design, 3D modeling, data manipulation, and BOM management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to solve systemic problems and manage change effectively.
  • Project management capabilities and a valid driving license, with the ability to travel as required.
