We are seeking a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join our team at a highly regarded Primary Special Needs school in Waltham Forest. The successful candidate will have a child-centered approach and high expectations of pupil progress.
The school caters to students with various abilities, ranging from moderate learning difficulties to complex and profound needs. The role requires a talented Teaching Assistant for Severe, Profound, and Multiple Learning Difficulties.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, enthusiastic, and dedicated to supporting children with educational needs. They will be able to use their initiative and take direction when needed. The role will include assisting the teacher with classroom preparation, 1:1 work with students who require additional support, leading group work, and helping the class teacher with pupil observations.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be NVQ Level 3 qualified and have a minimum of 6 months' experience working with children with SEND/Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You will also need to feel confident within a classroom environment and be able to take direction from a class teacher.
Key Responsibilities:- Assisting the teacher with classroom preparation
- 1:1 work with students who require additional support
- Leading group work
- Helping the class teacher with pupil observations
