About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our Enabling Functions team in Newcastle. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability and environmental management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the overall capability, development, deployment, and performance of the Environment and Sustainability delivery team for the project(s).
  • Manage, support, develop, and coach Environmental and Sustainability Advisors.
  • Responsible for the management of sustainability and environmental risks and mitigation, consultation with clients, stakeholders, and regulators.
  • Utilize the findings from reporting data, assessments, external and internal audits to drive sustainability and inform key Project decisions.
  • Building and developing relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with the Head of Sustainability to ensure the company environmental management system is maintained and operated in line with changing standards and legislation on contracts and also that the sustainability is delivered on the Project(s).
  • Ensure the project(s) complies with all Regulations, Company Policies, DCO/Planning, and the BMS/EMS.
  • Support the E&S upskilling and development of the Project(s) operational teams, assisting in the identification of site E&S training needs.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in the Civil Engineering/Construction industry in an environmental and/or sustainability role.
  • Cost estimation and commercial awareness.
  • Degree in a relevant field.
  • MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint to a high standard.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate in a range of environments.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to positively influence environment and sustainability within projects.
