Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is a leading healthcare provider with a rich heritage and ambitious vision for the future. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our team.

About the Role

As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Acute Medicine Admissions Wards, Accident & Emergency Department, Urgent Care Centre, and nursing teams. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that medicines are safely stored and readily available to the wards, clinics, and associated areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision of a high-quality patient-focused medicines management and dispensary service to patients at the Trust.
  • Support the provision of a high-quality 'topping up' and 'self-ordering' distribution service of pharmaceutical supplies to wards, clinics, and associated areas.
  • Contribute to the provision of a high-quality pharmacy stores service to the wards, clinics, and associated areas.
  • Undertake day-to-day housekeeping tasks and other basic duties as per section rota's.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • General Secondary Education including literacy to level 2 (equivalent to A-C or grade 4 GCSE) and numeracy to level 1 (equivalent to D-E grade GCSE).
  • Numeracy Level 2.
  • Pharmacy Service Skills NVQ Level 2 (QCF) or equivalent.
  • Good ability to use computer systems including Excel and Word.
  • Able to work both alone and in a team.
  • Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to the Clinical Governance and quality agenda.
  • Demonstrated good verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Experience of working with computers.
  • Experience of working in a hospital or customer-oriented environment.
  • Experience of working in a pharmacy environment.
