About the Role

Airedale by Modine is a leading technology company that designs, builds, and installs precision cooling systems for data centers worldwide. We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Engineer to lead our efforts in achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2035.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategies: Identify and mitigate sustainability risks, enhance sustainable business aims, and develop a roadmap for improvement.
  • Lead Net Zero Carbon Initiatives: Coordinate efforts to reduce scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and develop a generic calculator for embodied carbon assessments.
  • Enhance Product Sustainability: Conduct product lifecycle analysis, create Environmental Product Declarations, and work with product development teams to reduce lifecycle carbon emissions.
  • Support ESG Software Implementation: Research and identify sustainable technology, and work with the procurement team to reduce carbon emissions in the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with Operations, Environmental Management, and Engineering teams to report on plant-level carbon emissions and reduce them.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Sustainability Policies: Maintain knowledge of UK, EMEA, NA, and APAC sustainability and climate change policies, and ensure frameworks and processes are created and adhered to.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in an environmental engineering discipline or relevant Science-based subject.
  • Experience: Strong knowledge of sustainable engineering, material selection, and lifecycle carbon reduction, with experience in a sustainability role and ESG software.
  • Skills: Familiarity with embodied carbon calculators, strong knowledge of the social, economic, and environmental aspects of sustainability, and knowledge of sustainability and climate change adaptation strategies.
