Position Overview:
Our client, a prominent player in the securities brokerage sector, is seeking a skilled professional to take on a pivotal role in managing both Product Control and Revenue Reporting across their global operations. This position requires collaboration with various departments, including Front Office, Operations, and Finance.
Location: London
Employment Type: Permanent
Compensation: £60,000 - £65,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily oversight and management of global Profit & Loss and Revenue reports, addressing trade flow discrepancies and their impact on revenue, along with both manual and automated revenue accounting entries.
- Supervise the alignment of Sub-ledger to Ledger, while keeping a close watch on Revenue Control Accounts, balance sheet accounts, and monthly transaction statuses, including fails and pending items.
- Engage collaboratively with various Finance teams, ensuring precise and timely revenue reporting by liaising with Trading desks, Operations, Middle Office, and IT departments.
- Participate in monthly Profit & Loss discussions, analyze variances on fees prepared by team members, and oversee the comprehensive Revenue Control process, including the assessment of Transfer Pricing models and accounting practices.
- Review SOX Certification documents, assist external auditors during statutory audits, and generate ad hoc global revenue reports for senior management and other departments as required.
- Contribute to system and product migration initiatives, effectively escalating issues to highlight concerns and focusing on recurring challenges, while driving enhancement projects and system improvements.
Qualifications:
- Possession of an Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Experience in an accounting capacity within Financial Services or auditing Financial Services in a practice environment.
- Proven experience in managing or supervising junior team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships across all levels of the organization.
- A controls-oriented mindset, adept at identifying vulnerabilities and weaknesses, complemented by excellent accounting, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of Product Control is advantageous for this position.
