Job Summary
We are seeking an Apprentice Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for providing a rapid response to maintenance and breakdown issues throughout the plant, ensuring optimum plant output, and challenging existing practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking scheduled planned preventative maintenance, ensuring stock levels and critical plant spares are in stock, and covering essential elements of the Engineering Supervisor's role in their absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake scheduled planned preventative maintenance and work orders.
- Ensure optimum plant output when in production and challenge existing practices.
- Ensure stock levels and 'critical plant spares' are in stock.
- Cover essential elements of Engineering Supervisor's role in their absence.
- Continuous improve standards through the delivery of CI projects.
- Monitor & Improve OEE.
- Deliver practical problems solving activities that improve business metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, resolving any issues highlighted by audits within agreed timescale.
- Support the achievement of customer service levels and production plans.
Requirements
- Apprentice trained educated to a high standard with either a mechanical or electrical bias, including city & Guilds or BTEC, with further education into multiskilling.
- Experience and knowledge of delivering CI activities and have a minimum of 2 years post-apprentice evidence of troubleshooting and repairing of equipment within FMCG or industrial processing environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills is essential to this role, as well as the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- A sound knowledge of IT packages, proficient use of MS Office Tools as well as analytical and interpreting skills is also essential to this role.
Working Hours and Benefits
This is a rotating continental shift position, working an average of 42 hours per week. The successful candidate will be entitled to a range of benefits, including a bonus scheme, bereavement leave, company events, company pension, enhanced maternity leave, enhanced paternity leave, life insurance, on-site parking, referral programme, and sick pay.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary of £48,000.00-£54,000.00 per year.
