Job Summary
We're seeking a Senior Functional Safety Expert to join our growing team. Reporting to our Lead Functional Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and mitigating functional safety risks for the electrical and electronic systems of Forseven vehicles, from concept through to production and operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver ISO 26262:2018 work products specified within the Functional Safety Plan for a subset of vehicle items, in accordance with Forseven's processes.
- Lead the creation of Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) reports, Safety Concepts, Safety Requirements, IV&V Test Specifications, and other relevant documents/analyses.
- Coordinate multi-party activities to ensure synchronized delivery and testing, implementing mitigation strategies when necessary. Build a network of experts to help solve complex issues.
- Collaborate internally and externally to ensure system designs meet all relevant safety and regulatory requirements, which are formally verified to meet these and other specifications (performance, cost).
- Initiate sub-system design reviews as necessary to resolve functional safety concerns.
- Initiate and conduct meetings with suppliers and technical partners as required, ensuring they are delivering in accordance with their Development Interface Agreement (DIA).
- Perform system review, vehicle integration, verification & validation activities, including Safety Goal Validation and other tests throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic or Automotive Engineering related degree, or equivalent experience.
- Experience creating ISO 26262:2018 Parts 3 and 4 work products.
- Good understanding of Integration, Verification, and Validation related to Functional Safety.
- Experience performing Systematic Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (SFMEA), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and/or Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
- Articulate, self-motivated, inspiring individual who is highly approachable and keen to learn.
- Dynamic and proactive attitude to problem-solving.
