About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planner to lead our project planning and controls team. As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring timely and effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning discipline team on high complexity, high risk projects or programmes
  • Develop and maintain project schedules that align with project requirements
  • Ensure adherence to NEC or FIDIC contract processes for management of schedule data and submissions
  • Assist project teams to develop status reports to keep management informed on project progress
  • Oversight of day-to-day management, staffing and the implementation of Integrated Project Controls standards and processes
  • Development of project schedules in conjunction with project managers and project teams
  • Reducing uncertainty, knowing objectives and improving efficiency
  • Interacting with project teams to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules, cost information and identification of variances from original plans
  • Interacting with and assisting project managers to schedule work and coordinate assignments
  • Evaluation of project schedule progress and performance and identifying developing problem areas
  • Breakdown of the critical path and constraints to understand the effect of changes to schedule and recommend a work-around
  • Assisting project managers to maintain timely and effective change management processes and procedures
  • Conducting analysis to understand alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules
  • Undertaking of project reviews
  • Monitoring and consolidating of overall project plans
  • Monitoring the project managers' reporting system summarising the progress status of all projects
  • Monitor and advise on status of project KPIs

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant technical or management field or suitable equivalent qualifications and experience
  • The ability to make risk-based decisions where the parameters are unclear and judgement is needed
  • Project team leadership with the ability to mobilise, inspire and lead by example
