Great British Nuclear (GBN) is seeking a skilled Deputy Commercial Director to provide strategic commercial leadership and support to the Commercial Director, ensuring the effective management of contracts and procurement activities across GBN's projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial leadership and guidance to the Commercial Director, ensuring the effective management of contracts and procurement activities.
  • Develop and implement the organisation's commercial strategy, working closely with the Commercial Director and other stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor a team of commercial professionals, providing guidance and setting performance expectations.
  • Oversee procurement strategy, business case preparation, contract negotiation, and strategic procurement for a portfolio of projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the commercial viability of projects.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify potential contractual disputes or liabilities, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Assume ownership of the financial performance, profitability, and risk management of assigned commercial projects or business units.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive commercial reports to senior management.
  • Represent the organisation in high-level commercial negotiations with clients, partners, and suppliers.
Requirements
  • A proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing high-value contracts within large-scale construction or engineering projects.
  • Proven experience in commercial management roles within the nuclear industry or a similarly complex and regulated sector.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Law, or a related field. Master's degree is desirable. If a Bachelor's degree is not in one of the aforementioned subjects, other relevant professional qualifications are required.
