Job Description

Job Title: Skilled Fitters

Job Type: Full-time

Industry: Manufacturing

Location: East Cowes, Isle of Wight

Hours: Standard hours 37 per week on shift basis (straight days or rotating earlies and lates)

Days: Monday - Friday

Duration: Minimum of 12 months (reviewed after 6), possibly temp to perm for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working on a range of main and sub assemblies (jig and non-jig controlled) from detailed parts using appropriate assembly techniques, tools and fixtures.
  • Read and understand processes and procedures to meet all required quality standards.
  • Production of 1st off Production Units and work on mechanical assemblies.
  • Adherence to regulatory standards, customer specifications and health and safety.
Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years fitting experience plus a recognised industry related apprenticeship or NVQ 3 or City and Guilds 3 qualification.
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings.
  • Must be able to work well as part of a team or on own initiative.
  • Role subject to security clearance.
  • Accommodation Allowance considered for mainland applicants.

  • Salary: £17.06 / £21.33 per hour worked, dependent on shift
