Job Title: M&E Electrical Engineer

BAM Construct & Ventures UK Ltd is seeking a skilled M&E Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an M&E Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by performing electrical maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and complete associated paperwork and reports.
  • Perform reactive and emergency breakdown tasks, including completion of associated paperwork.
  • Assist other team members as required or directed by the Facilities Manager.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within contractual time scales.
  • Proactively reduce energy consumption on site.
  • Oversee visiting sub-contractors regarding standard of work and Health and Safety.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
  • Regularly review progress requests and communicate to the Supervisor/Contact Centre if there are problems or delays.
  • Deliver a high level of customer satisfaction based on speed of response and completion rates.
  • Develop and manage ongoing and routine maintenance programs.
  • Responsible for the safe and secure storage of spare parts, materials, tools, and consumables.
  • Provide technical support to others when requested.
  • Day-to-day monitoring and inspection of sub-contractor works.
  • Manage and control the BMS system where applicable.
  • Any other duties as may be discussed and agreed.
  • Manage services in accordance with contract specification, using best practice commercial and industry practices.
  • Responsibility for the implementation and compliance with Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental requirements ensuring compliance with all legislation and BAM FM policies and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in accordance with legislative and BAM FM requirements.
  • Carry out other duties that may be reasonably requested from time to time by BAM FM.
  • Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
  • Ensure that detailed records are created and filed for statutory testing, inspections, and record keeping.
Requirements:
  • Experience of electrical/mechanical maintenance, testing, and fault finding on a variety of equipment including air conditioning, plumbing, boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, small power, and lighting (where applicable).
  • An understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), service targets, and objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.
  • Capable of completing essential paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience in working to a high level in one or more specific trade disciplines.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of working in an educational institution would be advantageous.
  • Full UK driver's licence.
  • Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (PVG) in relation to this type of work is applicable.

  • MEWP Certification.
  • Electrical qualification.
  • Legionella Training.
  • First Aid Training.
