Job Summary:

Pertemps TM is seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Chef Manager to join our team in a busy kitchen at a Further Education institution in Walsall. As a key member of the catering team, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality food offering and exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Chef Manager and team of catering assistants/cooks to provide a delicious food offering and customer experience.
  • Deputise in the Chef Manager's absence, including ordering, cashing up, and supervising teams.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of menus and food services.
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained at all times.
  • Collaborate with the catering team to achieve excellent customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and development of catering staff.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • City & Guilds 706 1 & 2 or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in a similar role in a B&I, Hotel, secondary or further education setting.
  • Excellent food standards and practical skills.
  • Strong organizational, team building, and motivational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Working Hours and Benefits:

  • 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6.30/7am until 3/3.30pm.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends as required.
  • Salary: £27,396 - £29,762 per annum.
  • 30 days annual leave.
  • Closed days.
  • Pension.
