Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

Lakeland Dairies Ltd is a leading dairy processor on the island of Ireland, with a complex and ambitious business model. We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Ballyrashane site outside Coleraine.

The Role:

As a key member of our multi-skilled engineering team, you will be responsible for providing essential planned and emergency maintenance on site to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our plant 365 days a year. This will involve working with electrical and mechanical systems, reading and interpreting specifications and diagrams, and applying your knowledge and skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure optimal plant performance
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly
  • Read and interpret technical specifications and diagrams to identify and troubleshoot problems
  • Apply your knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems to resolve issues and improve plant efficiency
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve shared goals and objectives
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualification in Engineering, such as ONC/OND or equivalent
  • Engineering apprenticeship time served
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and diagrams
  • Experience of electrical and mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving
  • Good working knowledge of current electrical standards and requirements
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible attitude towards work and hours, with willingness to work continental shift patterns
Desirable Criteria:
  • Post-qualification experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Good basic mechanical or electrical knowledge for cross-trained multi-skilled discipline
  • Previous experience in a food or increased hygiene environment
  • Knowledge of PLC programming
  • 17th or 18th edition certification
