AECOM's Transmission and Distribution practice is at the forefront of grid modernization, and we're seeking a talented Cable Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Cable Engineering team, you'll play a crucial role in developing and delivering cable systems activities that will shape the future of energy transmission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop cable burial route risk assessments, landfall, and cable protection systems for offshore, subsea applications
  • Gather and correlate engineering data to generate detailed cable reports
  • Design, route, install, commission, and decommission HVAC/HVDC, IAC, and export cable systems
  • Collaborate with project disciplines, external subcontractors, and remote offices to ensure technical risks are identified and mitigated
Requirements:
  • Electrical/electronic/power engineering qualification (HNC, HND, BSc/BEng, or MSc/MEng)
  • Professionally qualified in Electrical Engineering (CEng Chartered Engineer or working towards achieving this)
  • Understanding of HVAC and HVDC transmission principles and requirements management
  • Ability to implement software tools to provide desktop studies and generate reports (Cymcap, Cableizer, COMSOL)
