Position Overview:

The Electrical Distribution Fitter will report to the Lead Operational Engineer and will be part of the UK Power Networks Services team. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our electrical systems.

Compensation:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and uphold safe working conditions.
  • Maintain and service electrical equipment on the Low Voltage and 11KV networks.
  • Perform inspections of substations to ensure operational excellence.
  • Assist in the installation and construction of new substations, including High Voltage switchgear and transformers.
  • Report any hazards or defects through the established reporting channels.
  • Ensure that all work meets the current quality standards and procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and represent the company positively.
  • Work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.

Job Scope:

This role is classified as a Specified Role and will require pre-appointment drug screening as per company policy.

The position involves working alongside a team of skilled technicians and engineers, with responsibilities extending across various customer sites.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • ONC in electrical power or equivalent qualifications.
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship in power distribution or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the electrical distribution network.
  • Experience in the maintenance and testing of High Voltage and Low Voltage assets.
  • A valid driving license is required.
