We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Manchester City Council. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering commercial elements of construction projects, ensuring effective contract management across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver commercial elements of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including project managers, architects, and engineers.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including contractors, suppliers, and consultants, to ensure effective contract management.
  • Provide commercial advice and guidance to project teams, ensuring that commercial requirements are fully defined and managed.
  • Monitor and report on project performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in commercial management, preferably in a construction or infrastructure project environment.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, including NEC3 and JCT.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
