About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Research Associate Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a key member of our Research and Development Department, you will play a vital role in the delivery of clinical trials and research studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients participating in clinical trials, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Trial Delivery Team to coordinate the delivery of clinical trials, including screening, recruitment, and follow-up.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of research protocols, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Collect and record accurate data, maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date patient records and study documentation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals across the organization to ensure seamless delivery of research studies.
  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and conferences to enhance clinical research skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of research within the Trust, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Requirements
  • GCSEs including English, Maths, and Science at grade A-C/grade 4-9.
  • Foundation degree (FdSc in Healthcare Practice (Nursing Associate) or working towards).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Clinical skills including venepuncture and cannulation or a willingness to undertake.
  • Ability to collect accurate clinical measures, including standard observations.
  • Understanding of ethical practice and patient confidentiality.
  • Good report writing skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team.
  • Well-developed IT skills, including ability to input data into databases.
