About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Butcher to lead our Butchery Department and drive sales growth. As a Butchery Department Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards in all areas, including stock, food safety procedures, and customer satisfaction.

You will work closely with the Store Manager to develop a business plan that supports the growth in sales and profitability of your department. Your key responsibilities will include greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, and offering helpful advice with a smile.

You will also be responsible for ordering and managing stock, including stocktaking, and effectively developing and managing a small team, including staff rotas. Additionally, you will be expected to cut meat to order, clean and maintain tools and equipment, and coordinate deliveries or order pickups.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintaining high standards in all areas, including stock, food safety procedures, and customer satisfaction
  • Working closely with the Store Manager to develop a business plan that supports the growth in sales and profitability of your department
  • Greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, and offering helpful advice with a smile
  • Ordering and managing stock, including stocktaking
  • Effectively developing and managing a small team, including staff rotas
