Lead Automotive Technician

JOB PURPOSE
To oversee and enhance the service operations within the workshop environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain advanced skill levels and comprehensive knowledge of all technologies utilized in the vehicle lineup, participating in necessary Master Technician training sessions.
• Engage directly with clients regarding any ongoing vehicle issues, ensuring that all repairs are executed thoroughly and monitored until resolution.
• Be well-versed in all manufacturer’s technical documentation and information bulletins, ensuring this knowledge is disseminated and comprehended by all technicians. Identify training and development opportunities within the workshop team.
• Collaborate with the Workshop Controller and Aftersales Manager to ensure quality assurance for all tasks performed by the workshop team.
• Work alongside the Workshop Controller to guarantee sufficient staffing levels in the workshop to meet operational hours.
• Conduct regular meetings to document and communicate any workshop concerns or suggestions to the appropriate personnel.
• Mentor and develop fellow technicians and apprentice technicians within the workshop.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, upholding the standards of the manufacturer and the company.
Skills & Requirements
Essential
• Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ qualifications.
• Proficiency in numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
• High levels of energy and enthusiasm.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Professional appearance.
Experience
• Relevant experience and training with manufacturers.
• Previous or current experience as a Master Technician with VAG or premium brands.
