### Job Title: Child Health Specialist

### Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Child Health Specialist to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Milton Keynes Specialist CAMHS Team, you will play a vital role in supporting the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of young people.

### Key Responsibilities:

* Ensure that appropriate systems are in place and in accordance with local policy.
* Facilitate the effective assessment, diagnosing, care planning, prescribing, and review of children and young people referred to the specialist CAMHS service.
* Generate prescriptions for children and young people using appropriate prescribing formularies and monitor and review thereafter regarding the effectiveness, continued appropriateness, and safety of the prescribing intervention.
* Provide and coordinate medication management clinics, including appropriate physical health checks and monitoring.
* Provide accurate and timely performance data on service activity as required.
* Link regularly with other agencies to facilitate effective communication between NMP clinics and the MDT Teams to ensure a quality service is maintained.
* In partnership with the Team Manager, actively contribute to the programme of quality assurance and take the lead in the absence of the Lead Prescriber.
* Assist the Team Manager in maintaining up-to-date statistics on the team's performance to ensure that Performance Indicator targets are achieved.
* Responsible for the supervision and appraisal of staff members of the team.

### Person Specification:

* Professional Qualification in Nursing, Pharmacy, or Occupational Therapy.
* Non-medical prescriber (V300).
* Evidence of continuous professional development - mentoring qualification.
* Professional experience in the field of Children's mental health or equivalent.
* Demonstrable experience at Band 6 in the community.
* Knowledge of key Children and Young People's Health & Social Care issues and statutory requirements (particularly Medicines related).
* Able to carry out a full Mental and physical health assessment including a physical examination where possible.
