Job Description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Temporary

Location: Quidenham, Norwich

Salary: £21, £22,388.59 dependent on experience

Hourly Rate: £12.53 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time only - Monday - Friday - 8.30am - 4.30pm (5pm on Thursday, extra half hour taken off on another day)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEN secondary school in Quidenham. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and will be able to work collaboratively with the teaching staff to provide a high-quality educational experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a warm and supportive relationship with students to promote a sense of safety and well-being.
  • Promote independence and personal development in students and maintain high expectations of behavior at all times.
  • Contribute to providing high-quality educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Support the class teacher in all areas of the day-to-day running of the class.
  • Respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
  • Promote students' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, physical development and spiritual well-being.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
Requirements
  • GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
  • Level 2 - 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or working towards).
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with students with SEMH, ASD.
